Happy Halloween
Happy Halloween! This year Averie wanted to be Princess Belle form Beauty & the Beast and Rylie was a dalmatian after her love for dogs. We took the girls to a few trick or treat events leading up to the holiday to get into the spirit. They both had a blast collecting candy, but luckily quickly forgot about it after their 1 piece. Rylie was a riot and wanted 2 buckets for candy and wouldn't relinquish her little pumpkin when she got in the car, saying mine, mine, mine no mommy, proceeding to dump it out in her carseat to check out her loot. Over the weekend, we also took the guts and seeds out of pumpkins and painted smaller pumpkins for the house. Once home from trick or treating, Rylie helped hand out the candy. she was calling people over to our house and if they weren't fast enough she would run down the driveway and sidewalk to deliver them candy! Overall, we had a great Halloween week!

1st Day of School
This year both girls are going to preschool Monday -Friday! I can't believe that they are both old enough for school?! The girls switched to a new school for camp and the school year. They are able to be together for school wide havdallah services on Monday mornings which they both enjoy. Rylie is in the Barnyard Buddies class with her favorite teacher from camp and some of her camp friends. So far she has had an easy transition and happily goes to her classroom to see her friends.
Averie is in the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom room and is a coconut again. She also is lucky enough to have her camp teacher as her main teacher. She is working on making new friends since most from camp are split among the other classes. Averie has made a ton of progress at her new school and has built a special bond with her teacher that we can only hope will spill over to her new teacher.
We look forward to seeing what the school year holds for both girls!

Averie's last day of school
Yesterday was Averie's last day of school in the kitah bet 2s classroom. She has had a great year and learned so much. Currently, she loves to trace her name and the name of everyone in our family. Averie also has a greater interest in arts & crafts this year and learning to use scissors. She enjoyed tea parties, baby doll circle time and could often be found reading in the "library". A few days a week Averie stayed after for cooking and science classes with her teacher to further her love for knowledge and to be with the "big" kids. It was wonderful to see her come home excited about whatever she had made in class. We can't believe how much she has grown!

Sisterly love
I continue to be amazed and have my heart filled by the love that Averie and Rylie have for each other! Don't get me wrong, they of course steal toys and yell at each other like any toddlers do, but when those brief moments pass they play so well together. Our days begin with Rylie walking Averie into her class at school and end with giving each other hugs and kisses goodnight, complete with Averie telling Rylie she loves her. Most days, Averie tells me that Rylie is her best friend and proceeds to tell me that she is Rylie's best friend. Averie always wants to hug and love on Rylie, and will get upset if Rylie doesn't want her to. One day she cried because she wanted to hug rylie in her bed and take a selfie and Rylie just wanted to play, it was too funny. They get so excited to see each other and chase each other, give kisses and even blow raspberries on Rylie's stomach to the loudest giggles I have ever heard. We can only hope that this continues and the girls grow up to remain as close as they are today!

Passover
Happy Passover! We had an adorable seder at Averie's school. She made an adorable seder plate, haggadah, and cup for elijah that we used for our seder at home. This year Go, Goma and Popsie joined us for our seder and Averie found the afikomen. It is very cute to see her get excited about the jewish holidays and traditions that we enjoy as a family.
Averie's 3rd birthday
Averie had lots of birthday celebrations this year. We started them
off with a family birthday party in CT on her actual 3rd birthday. She
helped make and decorate her own chocolate cake. She chose to make
chocolate cupcakes at school with her friends and they all enjoyed
decorating them with pink frosting and eating the frosting off. We saved
the best for last, a mickey mouse clubhouse birthday party at the house
with special guest Minnie Mouse! Ever since we met Minnie in April,
Averie has been asking if Minnie was coming to her party and was so
excited. We had decorate your own mickey mouse shaped cookies, mickey
mouse clubhouse coloring and a lot of 3 year olds running around. It was
a lot for Averie to take in but afterwards said she had a blast.
